Russia to import less meat and dairy products in 2014, the Agriculture Ministry said.

The Agriculture Ministry citing the Customs Data said that Russia’s import volume of meat products was 1109300 tons ended by Nov. 24, down 32.6% on year, besides the trade volume between Russia, Belarus, Kazakh which are a customs union.

The data showed that Russia's import volume of dairy products fell 48.4% to 20700 tons, the import volume of cheese products fell 39.6% to 174700 tons.

To response to economic sanctions against Russia by western countries, Russian government imposed ban on meat and dairy products imported from  US, EU, Canada, Austrilia and other countries
